Environmental Protection Social Responsibility Policy

It is the Company’s policy to have zero spills to sea by promoting the establishment and continual improvement of environmentally sound practices through the participation of all Company employees.

Senior management is committed to assign responsibilities and authorities, establish and implement an Environmental Management System for the offices and the vessels that is adequately maintained and continuously satisfies the statutory requirements and international legislation & ISO 14001, as applicable.

The Company is committed towards to the protection of the marine environment and has established operating practices and specific commitments to:

  • Prevent damage to the environment and endeavor to reduce our impact on the environment;
  • Ensure sustainable development of our environmental performance;
  • Continuously improve personnel skills regarding environmental emergencies;
  • Comply fully with all legal requirements and meet or exceed applicable legislation and fulfill its compliance obligations;
  • Ensure that all employees are well informed, well trained, engaged in and committed to comply with the Company’s established Environmental Management System (EMS) and environmental improvement processes;
  • Regularly provide assurance that the processes in place are working effectively;
  • Maintain public confidence in the integrity of our operations by openly reporting our performance;
  • Consult with people outside the Company to improve our understanding of external and internal environmental issues;
  • Provide a framework for setting, reviewing and improving environmental objectives and targets; also made available to interested parties;
  • Expect all third parties working for the Company to adhere to our environmental policy;
  • Ensure that all employees accept the Company’s Environmental Protection and Social Responsibility Policy as a condition of employment;
  • Carry out studies and establish programs for continuous reduction of environmental risks;
  • Ensure that all persons working for and on behalf of the Company are aware of this policy;
  • Ensure that there are no funding restrictions pertaining to the management of wastes and the use of reception facilities for disposal of sludge and bilge water;
  • Demonstrate commitment to environmental protection by emphasizing source reduction, including funding and human resources necessary to effectively maintain and repair the systems, equipment and components found on board all vessels.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continual improvement of the environmental management system to enhance environmental performance.

The responsibility lies with the Management Representatives to ensure that this Policy remains relevant and effective and that is being reviewed periodically.

The HSQE Manager has ultimate responsibility for ensuring the full implementation of the EMS and for all environmental protection matters.
